Erasmus+ Exchange

Applications for Erasmus+ study abroad places, coordinated by SNEB, are accepted once a year in January by Aurelija Tamošiūnaitė, PhD. Students can apply for either winter and/ or summer term studies for the upcoming academic year.

The application round for the winter semester 2024/25 and the summer semester 2025 has already ended (on January 12, 2024). The deadline for the next round of applications will be announced in August 2024.

Who can apply for the Erasmus+ study abroad places at SNEB?

  • Students of the International Master in Sociolinguistics and Multilingualism (SoMu)
  • Students of MA and BA Linguistics
  • PhD students (affiliated with SNEB)

What are the eligibility requirements?

  • BA students: at least two fully completed semesters before the start of the mobility
  • MA students: one completed semester before the start of the mobility
  • Sufficient language knowledge of the host country (e.g. completed language course at SNEB) and/or the language of instruction (e.g. English)
  • Enrollment (Immatrikulation) at JGU
  • To be eligible for the Erasmus+ grant, students have to earn at least 15 ECTS per semester at the partner university

How to apply?

To apply for the Erasmus+ exchange, submit the following documents:

  • Brief motivation letter (in German or English, explaining your motivation for the semester abroad. Make sure you specify the university you would like to attend and the semester for which you apply)
  • An overview of previously taken courses (e.g. Transcript of Records)
  • CV (with your full birth date)
  • Optionally: language certificates

Submit the documents per e-mail (preferably in pdf format) to Aurelija Tamošiūnaitė.

Selection criteria:

  • Academic standing
  • Language knowledge (the target language of the host country and English)
  • Year and semester of study (with the priority given to students in higher semesters)
  • Mobility requirements within the study program (with the priority given to SoMu students who are obliged to spend a semester abroad)
