Lithuanian language and culture summer course 2023!

Greetings from Vytautas Magnus University, Lithuania.

We would like to share with you great news - this summer we will be organising Lithuanian language and culture summer course 2023!

We are very happy to share that the Lithuanian Education Exchanges Support Foundation has announced the call for students, lecturers and researchers from foreign countries (category 1) AND foreigners of Lithuanian origin (category 2) to attend the Lithuanian language and culture course at Vytautas Magnus University and get the tuition waiver (for online course) and scholarship (for contact course).

 

A little bit of information about the course:

Place: Kaunas, Vilnius or online.

Course duration: from 08-07-2023 to 06-08-2023 (30 days).

Credits: 8 ECTS.

Entry level: Lithuanian knowledge from no background to C1.

Selection criteria for the candidates: Motivation (1) and Recommendation (2)

Extra points for participants who: Apply for the first time/ study the Lithuanian language, history and culture in their home country (in)formally and officially / are from Taiwan or Ukraine.

 

If a person does not meet the criteria for a scholarship, he/she may be entitled to a discount, therefore, we have many different options!

Registration for the tuition waiver and scholarship is open until April 20, 2023 through our APPLICATION SYSTEM.

Apply to the Summer School in Human Sciences 2023 at JYU!

We are pleased to welcome your students to our 19th International Summer School in Human Sciences offered on 22 May - 9 June 2023. The Summer School comprises of 14 interdisciplinary courses for students interested in e.g. language and culture studies, communication, education, music, sport and health sciences, business and marketing and social sciences.

The summer school of 2023 will be held as a physical event on campus. The University of Jyväskylä constantly monitors the Covid-19 pandemic situation and is prepared to make changes and adjustments to the programme if necessary. Please be advised that the courses “Visual Communication as a Way to Improve Working Life Skills” (week 1) and “Nordic working life model: past, present and the future of work in light of institutional theories” (week 2) are offered as Erasmus+ blended short term mobility periods. If your institution offers Erasmus+ funding for students to participate in blended short term mobility periods (and our inter-institutional agreement includes blended mobility), your students may be able to apply for it to take part in these courses and to cover travel and accommodation costs. We would be grateful if you can inform your students about this possibility, if applicable.

*Note that the courses “Visual Communication as a Way to Improve Working Life Skills” (week 1) and “Nordic working life model: past, present and the future of work in light of institutional theories” (week 2) are offered as blended short term mobility periods. If your home university offers Erasmus+ funding for students to participate in blended short term mobility periods, you may be able to apply for it to take part in these courses. The grant can be used to cover travel and accommodation costs. Please check from your home university coordinator if this grant is available at your institution.

How to apply?

The online application form and instructions for completing the application are available at http://r.jyu.fi/hs-summerschool/apply. The application deadline is 1 March 2023. You are welcome to apply for the full summer school programme (one course per week) or parts of it. Each course lasts one week and they are 2-5 ECTS credits.

 

Participants

Students from partner universities all over the world are invited to apply to the Summer School. Also the degree and exchange students of the University of Jyväskylä are welcome to join the courses.

 

Costs

The University of Jyväskylä does not charge tuition or course fees from students of partner universities collecting eventual tuition fees of their own. Students are expected to pay for their travel to and from Jyväskylä as well as living expenses and accommodation while in Jyväskylä. Small participation fees may be collected for individual events of the social programme.

Teaching staff

The teaching staff of the Summer School consists of professors, researchers and experts from the University of Jyväskylä and from partner universities.

 

Arrival service and student tutors
Summer School participants arriving from abroad are assisted by student tutors (fellow students of the University of Jyväskylä). The student tutors will help international Summer School participants with practical matters and finding their way around Jyväskylä.

 

Free time programme
The summer school offers an extensive free time programme, which allows participants to get to know Jyväskylä and the Finnish summer, as well as their fellow students. The programme includes various activities such as cultural evenings, get-togethers, excursions, Finnish sauna evenings, picnics etc. The social programme is mainly free of charge.

 

Accommodation

The summer school has reserved a tentative quota of rooms for summer school students. Detailed information about accommodation during the summer school, reservation and payment instructions will be sent to students who have been granted admission to the Summer School. Sommerschule zum Baltischen

Das Seminar für Indogermanistik der FSU Jena veranstaltet in diesem Jahr eine Sommerschule zum Baltischen.

Eingeladen sind u.a. Referenten zu baltischen Sprachen und zum Ostseefinnischen.

Dazu sind Studierende und Doktoranden anderer Hochschulen gerne eingeladen.

Estnischer Sommerkurs 2017

Liebe Studierenden, die sich für estnische Sprache und Kultur interessieren,

wir laden alle gerne ein zu den estnischen Sommerkursen ein, die von dem College für Fremdsprachen und Kulturen der Universität Tartu organisiert werden!

Die Kurse werden auf Englisch durchgeführt und sie sind nach Sprachniveaus in 4 verschiedene Module geteilt. Alle Module finden gleichzeitig statt (24. Juli - 4. August 2017):

Sommerkurse Schwedisch (A1-B2) in Göteborg

Take a Swedish intensive course in Göteborg this summer! The courses are 2-3 weeks and start in June, July and August. Levels: from A1 Beginners up to level B2.

The summer courses also include a "Social Programme" with guided city walks in the afternoons and excursions in the weekends. This way you get to know the other students and the city of Göteborg in a fun and relaxed way.

Tutorium für internationale Studierende am FB 05

Das PHILIS-Projekt der JGU bietet im Sommersemester 2014 Tutorien für internationale Studierende des Department of English and Linguistics an. Die Tutorien behandeln die Studienkultur und das wissenschaftliche Arbeiten und sollen den Studierenden den Einstieg in ihr Studium am FB 05 erleichtern, indem es sie in die ihnen fremde akademische Kultur einführt.

Zielgruppe sind internationale StudienanfängerInnen, die noch nicht mit der Studienkultur in Deutschland bzw. in Mainz vertraut sind und am FB 05 einen Abschluss anstreben. Die Tutorien sind kostenfrei, werden von eigens dafür ausgebildeten Tutorinnen und Tutoren geleitet und finden vom 14.-16. April 2014 (2 SWS) statt.

Baltischer Jugend- und Studentenkongress (25.-28.9.2014)

Vom 25. - 28. September 2014 findet in Lauenburg und Lüneburg der Baltische Jugend- und Studentenkongress zum Thema „Miteinander leben können?“ statt.

Der Kongress richtet sich an eingeschrieben Studenten europäischer Hochschulen aller Fachrichtungen und an Schüler der Oberstufe ab 18 Jahren. Er setzt bei den Teilnehmern die Bereitschaft zu intensiver Mitarbeit und konzentrierter Auseinandersetzung voraus. Unterrichtssprache ist Deutsch. Zum Programm gehören Vorträge, Zukunfts-Workshop, Kulturprogramm, Teilnahme an den Deutschbaltischen Kulturtagen der Carl-Schirren-Gesellschaft in Lüneburg. Die Kosten betragen 50 € (Frühbucher bis 30.04.14 40 €) für Teilnehmer aus Deutschland und Westeuropa (25 € (Frühbucher bis 30.04.14 20 €) für Teilnehmer aus Estland, Lettland, Litauen und Russland) für Unterkunft, Verpflegung, Tagungsprogramm zzgl. Fahrtkostenerstattung (vorher erfragen).
